Terms

These terms are between you and Volt Games, Lda., a company registered in Portugal, which makes Ask Twice. Using the app, or buying a plan, means you accept them. Questions go to hello@asktwice.app.

The app

You may install and use Ask Twice on your own Macs. You may not resell it, try to get around its allowances or its checks, or use it to overload or attack the service it relies on.

Your writing

• What you write, and what the app rewrites it into, is yours.
• Rewrites are produced by AI and can be wrong: they can change a meaning, drop something, or state something that is not true. Read a rewrite before you send it. You are responsible for what you send.
• Do not use Ask Twice for anything illegal, or to produce content that Anthropic's usage policy forbids, since its models write the rewrites.

How your text is handled is described in the privacy policy.

Plans and allowances

• The free plan includes a number of rewrites each month, shown in the app.
• Paid plans are per seat and include a monthly allowance per seat, shared across the seats on the plan. Some rewrites cost more than one from the allowance — the app says so where you choose them.
• Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over. Rewrites you buy as a top-up do carry over, and are used after the month's allowance.
• We may change what plans include or cost for future billing periods, and will tell you before a change affects a subscription you already have.

Payment, renewal and cancelling

• Payments are handled by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time: in Ask Twice, open Plan and choose Manage or cancel subscription. On a team plan, the person who bought it does this. If you cannot reach the app, email us and we will cancel it for you.
• After you cancel, the plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.
• A yearly plan cancelled within thirty days of being bought is refunded for the unused part of the year.

If you are in the EU or UK

As a consumer you can withdraw from a purchase within fourteen days of making it, by emailing us. We refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for any part of the service you used before withdrawing. This does not replace any other right you have under the law of the country you live in.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Ask Twice available and correct, but it depends on services we do not control, and we cannot promise it will always work or that every rewrite will be right. We may change, improve or retire features.

Liability

Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our liability to you for anything to do with Ask Twice is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

The law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the law where you live, and can bring a claim in the courts there.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will say so in the app’s release notes before the change takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page.
